DAY COURSES - GROWING YOUR OWN FRUIT AND VEG
COMPOSTING, PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT OF A FRUIT AND VEGETABLE GARDEN Will Sutherland will be running day courses at Little Houghton Hall, near Alnwick, Northumberland during two weeks in September. The current dates are 4, 11 and 18 September. The programme for each course cover the following topics. Planning your smallholdingComposting Thermodynamics and the wonder of soil Pests and how to live with them harvesting and preserving your produce scything and grass management the chickens beer and wine making Tools and equipment The cost of these day courses is £55 which includes tea, coffee and a sandwich lunch. SPECIAL TOPICS Last year there was a large demand for our one day courses and, in response to this, we plan to run some special courses on special topics such as bread making, sausage making and home brewing later in the summer.
